Article considers the modern stage of world economy characterized by digitalization as a new world trend of social development. The use of digital information in the context of economic and social life, applicable to a particular country or the world, leads to increased economic efficiency and a qualitative shift in the lives of the population.The manufacturing industry plays a special role in ensuring the economic independence of countries and their competitiveness in the market. In this regard, the governments of different countries, such as: The Eurasian Economic Union, the United States of America, China and Russia have all taken the initiative to introduce government programs to develop the digital economy and further modernize production.These programs highlight the main trends in industrial digitalization, which are: innovative management tools, rapid changes in business models, the use of intelligent sensors across the entire production line, and data-intensive analytics.The widespread use of digital technologies increases competition in global markets and stimulates leading industrialized countries to pursue appropriate industrial policies and increase investment in research and development.The development of the national economy takes into account global experience and makes digital transformation of the country one of the priorities. To this end, national and regional development programs are being adopted, mechanisms are being developed for the rapid introduction of new technologies in all key competitive areas, and for the structural transformation of the economy.
