Abstract

In order to boost bioavailability and enhance patient compliance, this review focuses on the antihypertensive action of transdermal patches. Using a transdermal method for administering medication (TDDS), it is possible to administer a systemic medicament via a simple skin patch. Among the most prevalent human diseases is hypertension. There is a strong correlation between hypertension and cardiovascular mortality and morbidity. The evolution of skin science, innovation, and experience that led to these patches began with the earliest written records of human history and continues to this day through with a combination of trial and error, clinical observation, and research evidence.
