Abstract

Since its inception in 1919, Korea’s brief cinematic history has been characterized by distinctive historical uniqueness, institutional originality, and remarkable achievements. However, the academicization, systematization, scale, and in-depth research of Korean cinema falls short compared to its trendiness and creativity. Therefore, this article attempts to decipher historical methods to accelerate the overseas dissemination of trending topics and highlights while expanding and consolidating overseas Korean film research foundations. Chinese films in Europe and the United States adopt multidisciplinary research scope and methods. There are criticisms based on the films themselves and cross-cultural studies reflected from them.
