Abstract
The starter C domains (C1) in nonribosomal peptide synthetases (NRPSs) are responsible for fatty acid modification that can strongly affect lipopeptides bioactivity. In article 1900175 Qian et al, present detailed understanding of C1 in the dynamic NRPS system via in silico analysis and subsequently allowing position of specific residues for fatty acyl selectivity, which facilitate NPRS engineering and efforts on novel lipopeptides.
