Abstract

We investigated the output characteristics of a dye laser amplifier in which optical pump direction changes the amplifier performance. The extraction efficiency was 60% for double-side pumping, and 25.5% for longitudinal pumping. The output energy was maximum when the polarization of the input beam and the pump beam were parallel. All experimental data were obtained using an optimum wavelength of 575 nm.
