Abstract

This study was aimed at evaluating physical and mechanical properties of bamboo-fiber reinforced composites subjected to outdoor exposure. Surface color, modulus of rupture, modulus of elasticity, and swelling properties were evaluated after 2 years of exposure. It has been shown that the surface color values have a decreasing tendency, and the color difference is bigger. There was a gradual decrease in MOR, MOE and shear strength properties of the samples as a function of exposure time for both of the placement angles, but all the samples still have higher mechanical values and show good dimension stability performance.
