Abstract

At its 12 December meeting, in addition to unanimously adopting the new position statement, “Human Impacts on Climate,” the Council also reaffirmed AGU statements on monitoring of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty, and on supporting the teaching of Earth history and evolution, and opposing the teaching of religious tenets as science. All AGU position statements can be found at http://www.agu.org/sci_soc/policy/sci_pol.html.The definitions of three medals were restated to more clearly show their breath, as follows:
