Abstract

The effects of operating conditions on the permeate flux for ultrafiltration of aqueous solutions of Dextran and Polyvinylpyrrolidone in hollow-fiber membrane modules have been investigated experimentally based on the osmotic-pressure model with the permeability analysis. The correlation equations for pure-water permeability after solute adsorption and fouling on the membrane have been obtained as functions of the transmembrane pressure and solution concentration. The theoretic prediction of permeate fluxes agrees well in tendency with the experimental data.
