Abstract

Tanzimat period was a period of restructuring of Ottoman Empire. The impact of these changes and transformation which indicating in many areas has been reflected in the Ottoman Press in various degrees. In this context, first newspapers and magazines began to emerge. Ottoman woman that cannot be heard in the social life have found this opportunity through the press. Although short-term, Muruvvet magazine which is the one of the first female newspapers and magazines has a symbolic significance in the Ottoman history of the press. Muruvvet which was publishing in the conservative line draw attention with its page layout and so on technical specifications.
