Abstract
In the thermal power plant equipment, it is necessary to understand the condition of the boiler tube quantitatively. The purpose is to prevent the accident from the part where thickness decreased due to corrosion. The thickness of the boiler tube is partially measured with the ultrasonic thickness gage now. However, it is difficult to measure the thickness decrease part in the boiler tube quantitatively without confirming it beforehand. In this study, the ultrasonic testing system using the guided wave was developed. This system enabled all aspects of the boiler tube to be inspected at a time. The basic characteristic of this system to measure the thickness decrease part in the boiler tube was examined. As a result of the examination, it turned out that the influence of the weld on the ultrasonic testing was small in this system. In addition, it was confirmed that this system was able to detect the artificial defect that considers corrosion at the position of 2.5m from the sensor. When the artificial defect has extent in the circumference direction, the defect signal is detected with two or more channels. Therefore, this system can measure the distance from the sensor to defect. In addition, the circumference direction position of defect can be presumed.
