Abstract

This article analyzes the management of NonGovernmental Organizations (NGOs),identifying the critical success factors that impact on their development, fundraising and relationship with public and private funding sources. Theoretical references were used in two fields: in strategic management, by examining aspects such as environmental analysis, planning and competitive advantages, and in the third sector management, analyzing the NGOs and their specificity with their corporate, political and social character and their relationship with public and private sectors, which are issues that require management knowledge and skills. The study was conducted according to the exploratory model of multiple studies and was carried out in four NGOs in the metropolitan region of Salvador, with a comparative analysis between organizations. The results indicate the existence of a direct relationship between the environment, strategic positioning, management structure and technical expertise level of the team to achieve results in the areas of fundraising and social development projects.
