Abstract

“Orzeł Biały” [“The White Eagle”] was issued in Bychawa, in the period 1925–1926, as the continuation of “Nowa Jutrzenka” [“The New Morning Star”] which circulated between 1908 and 1924. The founder, editor and publisher of both these periodicals was the priest (Fr) Antoni Kwiatkowski, a meritorious social and educational, publicist and devoted priest. “Orzeł Biały” came out regularly as a weekly in a modest graphic layout and small volume. Some of its folios were multi-thematic brochures, others were illustrated. The periodical contained articles reflecting the current problems of local community. The subjects were mainly religious, social and educational, as well as those concerning the state and the nation. The editor took some information from books and press, included quotations and reprints. The analysis is supplemented with the bibliography of contents.
