Abstract

It has been confirmed experimentally that dynamic birefringence in solution worm-like chains is orientation-deformational in nature. It is shown that it is possible to determine the coefficient of internal viscosity of a worm-like chain directly from the way in which the relaxation time depends on the solvent's viscosity and that it is displayed indirectly in the relaxation time in the way in which the model coefficient depends on the degree of chain convolution.
