Abstract

Teenage students are expected to have clear goals regarding their future, showing a strong interest in career, education and social aspects. However, not all students have a definite direction, because they are still confused about planning for the future, especially after finishing school. This study aims to examine the correlations between self-concept and future orientation among class XII students at MAN. The method used is quantitative with a correlational approach. A total of 184 students were randomly selected using the simple random sampling method as research subjects. The instruments used are a future orientation scale and self-concept scale. Data analysis using the Pearson correlation coefficient shows that there is a positive and significant relationship between self-concept and future orientation of class XII students at MAN, with a correlation value of 0.590 which is higher than the table correlation value of 0.145 and a significance value of 0.000 (p 0.05). This indicates that the more positive the students' self-concept, the higher their orientation towards the future, and conversely, the lower the students' self-concept, the lower their focus towards the future.Siswa remaja diharapkan memiliki tujuan yang jelas mengenai masa depan mereka, menunjukkan minat yang kuat dalam hal karir, pendidikan, dan juga aspek sosial. Namun, tidak semua siswa memiliki arah yang pasti, dikarenakan masih bingung dalam merencanakan masa depan, terutama setelah menyelesaikan sekolah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meneliti hubungan antara konsep diri dengan orientasi masa depan di kalangan siswa kelas XII MAN. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan korelasional. Sebanyak 184 siswa dipilih secara acak menggunakan metode simple random sampling sebagai subjek penelitian. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah skala orientasi masa depan dan skala konsep diri. Analisis data menggunakan koefisien korelasi pearson menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif dan signifikan antara konsep diri dan orientasi masa depan siswa kelas XII MAN dengan nilai korelasi sebesar 0.590 yang lebih tinggi dari nilai korelasi tabel sebesar 0.145 dan nilai signifikansi 0.000 (p 0.05). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin positif konsep diri siswa, semakin tinggi pula orientasi mereka terhadap masa depan, sebaliknya semakin rendah konsep diri siswa, maka semakin rendah juga orientasi mereka terhadap masa depan.
