Abstract

The article presents the author’s experience of solving one of the key tasks of professional development and professional self-development – the development of teacher’s readiness for the formation of national identity of students. The author proposes a model of development of teachers’ readiness for the formation of national identity of students in the intercultural educational environment in terms of the use of the combined potential of interaction in the system «Institute of Education – Educational Institution – Teacher». The readiness of the teacher to implement this area of professional activity is presented as a component of his national identity. This is due to the fact that the national identity of the teacher is manifested in his professional activities and serves as a pedagogical basis for the formation of national identity of students. Modelling as a theoretical research method involves the construction of a new reality (model) that provides an opportunity to imagine, find out the ratio of different sides of an object, and predict its further development. The model for the development of teachers’ readiness for the formation of national identity of students is normative and prognostic in nature, reveals the existing relationships and relationships between elements in the interaction system «Institute for the Development of Education – Educational Institution – Teacher». The structural components of the model in the article are the target, conceptual, technological, substantive, and productive blocks. When developing the model, the support was based on the hypothetical assumption that the willingness of teachers to develop the national identity of students is primarily due to the high level of teacher’s formation of a positive national identity.
