Abstract
The aim of this research is to adapt the concept of open innovation, widely used in business, for the purposes of universities. The methodological basis of the research was the methods of systematization, comparative analysis, logical-structural analysis and synthesis of literature, which contains the main theoretical, methodological and practical issues of the theory of open innovation, innovative development of universities, development of the organizational and economic mechanism of innovative development of the university and assessment of the innovative development of the university. The research results can become a methodological platform for the creation and implementation of innovative projects at universities and ensuring their innovative development in general.

Результаты исследования могут стать методической платформой для создания и реализации инновационных проектов в университетах и обеспечения их инновационного развития в целом. Целью данного исследования является разработка организационно-экономического механизма инновационного развития университета, основанного на принципах концепции открытых инноваций. ДИСКУССИЯ Анализ теоретических подходов, посвященных изучению механизма инновационного развития университетов в современной российской и зарубежной научной литературе, позволил выделить эволюционный, функциональный и системный подходы к сущности данного механизма. Функциональный подход в изучении механизма инновационного развития университета предлагает его рассматривать как инструмент, позволяющий университету выйти на новый, более высокий уровень, за счет формирования и реализации эволюционно современной модели стратегии развития (Ицковиц Г., Лейдесдорф Л., Виссема Й., Кокшаров В.А., Кортов С.В., Шульгин Д.Б., Нариманова О.В.) [5,6,7,8,9].
