Abstract

This article seeks to analyze the participation of social actors within the community organization in relation to the tourist activity of the Ponce Quilotoa community, for this, a mixed investigation was applied, (quantitative and qualitative) considering 231 residents of the community as the population. community and 380 tourists who visit the Quilotoa lagoon, in the same way, interviews were carried out with the leaders of the community, where, through a triangulation of data, the results were identified: that the main characteristics of the community organization as well as the Sociocultural impacts generated by tourist activity arebased on the community's own ways of life, thus allowing us to propose a study that takes community tourism as a social and cultural phenomenon, where collective historical memory, processes are emphasized. organizational structures and the Andean worldview as a basis for the development of community tourism.
