Abstract

ion is performed stepwise, circle-free, and explicit, and has nothing to do with abstraction in art and psychology. By introducing methodical abstraction we may understand by and large the change of our organizations. A notunderstanding threatens the existence of a company. Many companies today simply disappear. However, in practice abstraction is sometimes understood merely spontaneously, which may be helpful. Anthropological virtues like justice, prudence, and charity are treated to some extent. The article is based upon the classical philosophical literature on anthropology. Separate from an abstractive IT a semiotic IT developed. Semiotics (C.S. Peirce, 1839-1925) considers the representation of picture, paintings and drawings. In modern terms things are represented. We just give some quick remarks on the Internet of Things (IoT), belonging to the semiotic area. It is a revolution yet to come and its organizational consequences are not yet foreseeable. The distinction of abstraction and semiotics is in general not well understood, because the key term “representation” is a homonym, i.e. a term with two different meanings. For example, it is valid to say in abstraction theory “Concrete ciphers represent abstract numbers”. But in “The picture represents a tree” the term “to represent” is completely differently used. You can find this bewildering homonymity in almost all modern languages. In Computer Science this is a tragedy.
