Abstract

A new imi-ligand compound (H3O) [CuI(imi)2] [{CuI(imi)2}5 P2W18O62]2· 3H2O 1 (imi = imidazole) and a new trien-ligand compound [Cu(trien)H2O]3[P2W18O62]· 4H2O 2 (trien = triethylenetetraamine) have been synthesized under mild hydrothermal conditions and characterized by IR, TG and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. In the compound 1, two adjacent Dawson polyoxoanions are bridged through W–O–Cu(5)–O–W linkages to build one-dimensional infinitely linear chain structure; these chains are further assembled into a double-chain via hydrogen bond interactions. The compound 2 consists of Dawson polyoxoanion and copper-trien coordination cations. Hydrogen bond interactions play an important role in assembling 3D architecture. Two compounds have low thermal stability.
