Abstract

In recent times, reading the news has been a nightmare. From an outbreak to a pandemic in the blink of an eye, COVID-19 has gripped the world. Staying optimistic in such an unforeseen crisis feels almost impossible as fear engulfs the general public. But, practicing positivity is a powerful way of keeping stress and worries at bay. Hence, the present study focuses on the possible ways people tend to fill their life with positive vibes during the lockdown. The Ordinal Logistic Regression was used to identify the relationships between the response variables, e.g. various optimistic measures followed by individuals to stay hopeful viz. physical, mental and social wellbeing, preventive measures and leisure activities; The independent variables were calculated on an ordered, 5-point Likert scale for the responding participants. In this study, complementary log link was chosen that demonstrated the model appropriateness. One of the main finding is that Income level, engaging oneself on online book club/quizzes, and getting updated via. Newspapers/mobile applications/ television/ internet were highly significant with the respondents’ positive initiative amidst Covid-19 lockdown
