Abstract

Is oral lichen planus (OLP) by nature a premalignant condition? Few questions in clinical practice have generated more controversy or passionate debate than this one has in recent years. Based on previously published case reports of OLP's progression to squamous cell carcinoma, some clinicians and pathologists are convinced that it is inherently precancerous. 1 Pindborg JJ Reichart PA Smith CJ et al.
