The global pandemic known as Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has an impact on the use of language. The language used in COVID-19 news is frequently unfamiliar to the general public or even made up just for the pandemic. The goal of this study is to examine the word formation of COVID-19-related terms used in The Jakarta Post, BBC, and CNN portals. There are two research questions in this study, they are: (1) What are the types of word formation processes found in terms related to COVID-19? (2) How are the words related to COVID-19 formed? Moreover, this research uses Lieber’s theory (2016). This study uses a qualitative methodology. The findings of this study show that there are seven types of word formation: affixation, compounding, coinage, backformation, blending, clipping, and acronyms and initialisms. The conversion type is the process of word formation that has not been discovered. Words related to COVID-19 are formed by adding or removing an affix, combining or blending two words, expressing a specific object, and abbreviating a word. It can be concluded that many terms related to COVID-19 are the result of a word formation process that aims to form new words that will certainly give different meanings and different word classes from the original word. In the future, this research can be useful for readers who are looking for definitions of terms related to COVID-19, as well as for those who are interested in morphology or the field of word formation processes.

This was a qualitative study of word formation processes of Indonesian slang words in the Cosmo Girl!. To reveal the type of word formation and the most frequent type of word formation processes, the writer used two theories of word formation processes, namely word formation processes by Yule (2006) supported by Indonesian word formation processes by Chaedar (1994). The findings revealed four types of word formation processes, namely Clipping (3.22%), Blending (3.22%), Borrowing (19.35%) and Multiple Processes (74.19%). Although the Multiple Processes took a crucial part in forming Indonesian slang words, the process of borrowing dominantly occurred in the Multiple Processes. Especially English was often used in the borrowing process. Besides, the findings revealed processes that are not stated in both of the theories, namely Addition , Substitution and Deletion . These three processes were needed to adjust to Indonesian spelling system.

The aim of this study is to identify the different types of word formation from the English translated version of the Surah Ar-Rahman by Abdullah Yusuf Ali. By using O'Grady and Archibald (2016) theory and adopting a mixed-method approach, Surah Ar-Rahman was analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. A total of five types of word formation processes were found. The researchers found 58 inflections, 14 derivations, 8 loan words, 5 compound words, and 3 instances of suppletion. Apart from that, no other word formation process was found. This indicates, the translator, while translating, used differentlanguages to convey the actualessence of the Arabic words. This implies that the translator employed various techniques in order to accurately present the message of the source text into the intended language. In translation, the translator employed suppletion by using other words or other forms of words entirely in place of those which did not have direct counterparts in the target language. This paper will be highly beneficial to specialists and researchers whose focus is on religious texts translation as well as language specialistsinterested in morphology of translation
