Abstract

We will discuss the results of first principles simulations of materials for energy harvesting, including nanostructured materials for solar energy conversion, and photo-absorbers and catalysts for solar to fuel applications. We will focus on the identification of useful descriptors for the optimization of photo-conversion processes, and on the role of complex morphologies present in materials used for energy harvesting.
