Abstract

The increasing human population and depleting natural resources widen the energy demand and supply gap. Therefore it is required to develop new renewable energy sources and effective energy storage technology. There is also a need to miniaturize existing energy devices. Nanostructured materials offer several benefits, and when used in energy devices, they enable size reduction and improve thermal performance. Various solar energy harvesting devices using such materials are discussed in this chapter. In addition, this chapter also discusses recent studies on solar energy storage devices used in various industrial and household applications.
