Abstract

In this work, the performance of Conformal Strongly Coupled Magnetic Resonance (CSCMR) systems is studied to achieve optimal Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) efficiency and footprint miniaturization. A traditional CSCMR system from previous work is used to benchmark the performance of the proposed systems. The simulation and measured results demonstrate that by increasing the widths of the Transmitting (TX) and Receiving (RX) resonator loops and reducing source/load loops (while keeping the same overall dimensions) significant miniaturization is achieved. Also, the inner radius of source/load loops is optimized for higher efficiency depending on the resonant frequency of the CSCMR system.
