Optimize of Parallel Operation Several Electric Driven Gas Pumping Units on a Single Gas Pipeline

Abstract

The modern technologies and technical means providing energy efficient modes of natural gas pumping through main gas pipelines are considered. It is proposed to use a group connection of frequency-controlled electric-driven gaspumping units at compressor stations with high-voltage frequency converters. It is shown that the coordination of the operating modes of all units within the compressor departments with a decrease in the productivity of the gas pipeline by 5% of the nominal with the help of frequency regulation allows saving up to 1.05 MW of power consumption, and at 10% - more than 1.74 MW.
