Abstract

The project summarizes the study of the process parameters (Number of cycles, Extrusion pressure and Abrasive grain size) and their various combinations used in Abrasive flow machining (AFM) for the surface finish and their optimization using Taguchi method. Abrasive flow machining (AFM) process is the most suitable non-conventional finishing process of internal passages of IC engines and other components requiring high surface finishes mainly in aerospace applications.
