Abstract

Power supply systems using renewable energy sources require their optimization. In this paper, basing on the solution of the objective function for determining the minimum loss in the line, the authors determined the optimal power and the place of connection of the photovoltaic system as an additional power source to reduce power losses in the supply line with a uniformly distributed load and to meet the requirements of the International Electrotechnical Commission and the national standards of the Russian Federation for the permissible voltage deviation at consumers. The peculiarity of the proposed scheme is the connection of the photovoltaic system not on busbars of a low voltage transformer substation, and to the load at an optimal distance from these busbars. The study also provides a comparison of the energy performance of the power supply system of the poultry farm, where electric loads have active and reactive components, with an additional power source and without it, taking into account the daily consumption schedules and the photovoltaic system production schedule. A matrix method with a representation of the photovoltaic system by a current source was used in the calculations of currents and losses.
