Abstract

An improved design for the RBETs-M reactor is examined. The design is characterized by innovative solutions to various problems. These solutions make it possible to improve safety and cost-effectiveness as compared with the base RBETs design. The innovative solutions include using 15N-based nitride fuel, a two-loop scheme with no main circulation pumps, a gas-lift system in the first loop, passive systems for removing heat and stopping the reactor, and others.
