Abstract

Chicken eggshell was used as catalyst in this experiment in order to obtain the optimum conditions to produce biodiesel from waste cooking oil. There are two type of catalyst were used which are calcined and un-calcined chicken eggshell. The parameters that involved in this study are methanol to oil molar ratio (8:1, 12:1, 16:1 and 20:1) and catalyst dosage (9.09 g/L @ 1 wt%, 27.28 g/L @ 3 wt%, 45.47 g/L @ 5 wt% and 90.94 g/L @ 10 wt%). The characterization of the catalyst was also being discussed in this paper as well as the optimization conditions data that obtained from this study.
