Abstract

The impulse current generator is widely used in the electrical power system, and the design method of the impulse current generator is mainly based on the classical theory. In view of this, this paper proposes new method of optimum design for the impulse current generator based on the MATLAB/SIMULINK simulation technology and the PSO intelligence optimization algorithm. This method can quickly and accurately determine the impulse current generator capacitance value $C$ , _, the resistance value $R$ , inductance $R_{L}$ and the initial DC voltage $U_{0}$ according to the front time $T_{\mathrm{f}}$ , wave tail time $T_{\mathrm{t}}$ , peak current $I_{\mathrm{m}}$ and the time of current reaches maximum time. PSO-Simulink optimization design method is fit to the design of the linear and the nonlinear impulse current generator, however, the solution of the traditional analytical method is complicated and does not apply to limitation of nonlinear resistance. The research results of this paper have the certain reference value for the design and operation of the impulse current generator.
