Abstract

Abstract Head cover is one of the key components of the pump turbine. Its stiffness and axial stiffness have an important influence on the safe and stable operation of the unit. The structure of head cover is related to the design pressure. In this paper, the structure of head cover of the high head pump turbine is optimized, and the strength and axial stiffness of head cover before and after optimization was analyzed by finite element method. The results show that the optimized head cover is better than the axial stiffness of head cover before optimization.
