Abstract

Economic conditions that are not necessarily certain make it more difficult for some people to get a job, some people choose to become Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) to meet the needs of their families in the country, but this profession also leaves many problems to be sacrificed, one of the impacts is that the children left behind they must be cared for by one or their families in the country that they may lack attention and the most feared is the impact on education, especially the interests and learning achievements of children. The purpose of this study was to find out how the steps implemented by the families of Indonesian migrant workers, how the obstacles faced by the families of Indonesian migrant workers, how the efforts have been made by the families of Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) in increasing interest and learning achievement in children. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type, in research based on in-depth interviews, participant observation and Documentary Studies. The results of the study are that Indonesian migrant worker families 1) realize and uphold a sense of responsibility in caring for children, 2) the obstacles faced by Indonesian migrant worker families are the use of gadgets on children, 3) as well as giving special attention to increase learning motivation in children.
