Abstract

The scientific article discusses the issues of increasing the efficiency of harvesting in the cultivation of rapeseed for biofuel, by determining the optimal timing of seed harvesting, depending on their ripeness, climatic characteristics of the region, variety, and predecessor. The studies presented in the article provide information on how to calculate the period of full ripeness (the ripeness of seeds located in the upper tier of the plant), and an empirical dependence was obtained to determine the loss of seeds from the moment of full ripeness to the day when harvesting is done. Previous studies have provided data on the loss of rapeseed seeds during early harvesting. The data obtained showed that the optimal period for harvesting rapeseed for biofuel is 1-3 days, after the onset of the full ripeness phase.
