Abstract

AbstractThis chapter studies optimal robust residual generation. The robust residual generation method in this chapter aims to obtain a residual generator that can make optimal balance between the disturbance attenuation and fault sensitivity of the residual. Compared with the UIO-based residual generation method, the optimal robust residual generation method introduced in this chapter has more relaxed design conditions and hence has a broader application scope. The optimal robust residual generator is designed in the framework of transfer function. In spite of this, the obtained residual generator can be expressed in the state-space representation, which is an observer-based residual generator.
