Abstract
AbstractIn this paper, an effective Metaheuristic, Differential Evolution (DE) algorithm is applied to identify the optimal placement of shunt capacitor (SC) and Distribution Generation (DG) in a balanced radial distribution system (BRDS). For this, size selection is an important part of proper operation and control in the power system for optimal location in BRDS. Simulation results obtained by DE is also compared with results obtained using particle swarm optimization (PSO) for DG and SC placement problem for the minimization of real power losses, voltage profile improvement in the power system network.
