Abstract

As we know that in today’s era of communication, a number of mobile users are growing very fast. So, an efficient use of channel is required to counter the problem of multiple access of users in the network. In literature, many multiple access schemes have been suggested to increase the throughput of the wireless communication channel. Except traditional multiple access such as frequency division multiple access (FDMA) and time division multiple access (TDMA), some advanced schemes like non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), space division multiple access (SDMA), and rate splitting multiple access (RSMA) have also been suggested for 5G and beyond communication networks. In this paper, the recent and advanced multiple access schemes are reviewed and studied for different parameters like network load, complexity, style of design, etc. On the basis of analysis, this is concluded that RSMA gives better results as compare to other MA schemes for 5G and beyond networks.
