Abstract
This study integrated neural network optimal optical design and Roll to Roll microfabrication in the development of a flexible light guide film for liquid crystal display application. To achieve high luminance uniformity requirement, a neural network optimal process together with optical analysis was implemented in this study. Back-propagation neural network and genetic algorithm were applied to establish a light guide film optical quality predictor and to find the optimal micro pattern design respectively. The micro pattern was successfully duplicated on a 188 μm PET substrate with UV resin through Roll to Roll fabrication process. The measurement results showed that the replication rate is around 98 % while the luminance uniformity of light guide film reaches 74.9 %.
