Abstract

Increasing gross milk production is the main task of the dairy cattle industry. The level of milk productivity of a cow depends on the age and living mass of the calf at the first insemination. Under certain conditions, the technology of herd reproduction in the conditions of cattle breeding in a particular farm (maintenance technology, feeding conditions, etc.) it is necessary to determine the optimal period of the first fruitful insemination of heifers. The productivity of Holstein cows was studied due to the age of the first insemination. Among the first calves inseminated at the age of 11-18 months, cows turned out to be more productive with an age of insemination of 14 months. In order to increase productive longevity, it is recommended not to inseminate the calves earlier than this age.
