Abstract

In this paper the optimal planning and operation schedule of stationary battery energy storage systems (BESSs) and electric vehicles (EVs) batteries (as mobile BESSs) are addressed. The model aims at medium voltage and low voltage distribution networks' peak shaving and energy loss reduction. In this regard, a twostage framework is proposed in which the planning of stationary BESSs is addressed at the first stage while the optimal schedule of stationary and EVs BESSs is addressed in the latter. Linearizing network power flow equations, the problem is formulated in form of mixed integer linear programming which can be efficiently solved using off-the-shelf solvers. Implementing the proposed framework on a real-world distribution network in Iran, demonstrates its effectiveness.
