Abstract

Magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) was used to investigate the magnetic phase transition in Cd1-xMnxTe (0.3 < × ≤ 1). The composition dependence of the transition temperature was estimated from the temperature dependence of MCD intensity. A comparison with theoretically predicted magnetic phase diagrams implies that Cd1-xMnxTe becomes an antiferromagnet for x ≥ 0.7.
