Abstract

In present report, we analyze the results of optical measurement in the LiNbO3 thin films (amorphous, poly-crystal, and single crystalline). The LiNbO3 films deposited on quartz and NaCl substrates were used for measuring the absorption and reflection spectra. The optical spectra of amorphous and single crystalline LiNbO3 films were obtained at temperatures of 90 K, 300 K and 420 K. Reflection spectra results, show that there are two wide bands (A and B) with a complicated structure in the energy region hw = 3.0-16 eV. The A-band has a more complicated structure as compared to the B-band. A large half width and a small oscillation strength, in comparison with the A-band, are characteristic of the reflection spectra obtained at different temperatures were investigated for single-crystalline thin films.
