Abstract
The levels with v from 1 to 9 in the (8d)1Δg state of Na2 have been observed by means of optical-optical double-resonance (OODR) fluorescence excitation spectroscopy. The intermediate levels in the B1Πu state are justified by numerical calculations with the molecular constants by Kusch and Hessel (J. Chem. Phys.68, 2591-2607 (1978)) for B1Πu ← X1Σ+g transitions and confirmed by the complementary experiments for polarization spectra of A1Σ+g ← X1Σ+g transitions. The Dunham coefficients and the Rydberg-Klein-Rees (RKR) potential energy curve of the (8d)1Δg state are determined.
