Abstract

In semi-insulating GaP:Cr the ESR spectrum of the phosphorous antisite defect ${\mathrm{PP}}_{4}$ (${\mathrm{P}}_{\mathrm{Ga}}$) was detected optically (ODESR) by monitoring the microwave-induced change of the magnetic circular dichroism of its intracenter absorption bands. The spectral dependence of the ODESR lines shows that the deep-level defect has several intracenter absorption bands in the energy region between 1 and 2.3 eV and several resonant excited states in the conduction band in agreement with theoretical predictions.
