Abstract

A brief resumé is given of the work done by the National Bureau of Standards in connection with the manufacture of optical glass. The method of inspection for striae is outlined, data on the reproducibility of refractivity, from melt to melt, are given, and some effects of annealing on refractivity are mentioned.
