Abstract

The high-temperature phase transitions of KLiSO4 III←708 K→II→949 K→I are observed in-situ by polarisation microscopy and synchrotron radiation white-beam topography. Phase II reveals three pseudohexagonal ferroelastic twins which deviate slightly from the hexagonal 120° angles. The domain arrangements differ considerably for the transitions III→II and I→II.
