Abstract

Diluted magnetic semiconductors offer the unique medium for the study of semiconductor physics and magnetism through the electron-ion exchange interaction. Precisely controlled heterostructures alter the band structure, the interaction scheme and the dimensionality, affecting both the underlying electronics and magnetics. Focusing on the typical system of CdTe-CdMnTe, we have used static and dynamic techniques to pursue optical and magnetic properties from luminescence, spin-polarization and magnetization experiments. We present results of the dimensional effect on electric confinement and magnetic interaction, as well as spin exchange and relaxation of the electronic and ionic systems.KeywordsDetection EnergyDilute Magnetic SemiconductorLight HoleCdTe LayerSuper LatticeThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
