Abstract

The main spectroscopic characteristics of PbMoO4:Er3+crystal, including the probabilities of the intermultiplettransitions and the radiative lifetimes of Er ions in the crystalbased on the analysis of (π- and σ-) polarizedabsorption spectra using the Judd-Ofelt theory, aredetermined. The effective Judd-Ofelt parameters obtained forEr3+ ions in PbMoO4 crystal are Ω2 = 4.10×10-20 cm2, Ω4 = 0.51×10-20 cm2,Ω6 = 0.20×10-20 cm2. A comparison of thecalculated radiative lifetimes with experimentally measuredluminescence decay times is carried out. The experimental diagramsof the Stark sublevels of some multiplets of Er3+ ions inPbMoO4 crystal are obtained and the optical transitions betweenthem are identified.
