Abstract

The 21st century has seen numerous improvements in the field of technology, the most exciting being development of artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence is used in each and every field today with Food and Beverage being witness to various changes it has brought. Despite its young years, AI has made big inroads in Food & Beverage service industry has helped food processors come up with innovative ways to not just process but also in packaging and even delivering the finished product to the customer. This research will try and ascertain the various ways the Food and Beverage industry has reacted to the introduction of Artificial Intelligence. From food production to food processing, the food industry is witnessing a major shift in the ways it deals with customers and other businesses. The present study attempts to explain various facets of the prevalent artificial intelligence that are appropriate for hospitality-related activities. This will help one to understand that if the power of artificial intelligence can be used in restaurants. This exploratory study analyses the secondary data and different literature accessible in research. AI has been successfully used in many sections in restaurants such as recommendation and suggestion engine, chatbot, robot, kiosks, integrated purchasing and inventory, biometrics etc. It is not only meeting with the increased demand and pace of Artificial Intelligence but also helping reshape the Food and Beverage industry and customer behavior. Undoubtedly, the application of Artificial Intelligence has continuously boosted the industry but still many people are unaware of the potentials that it posses.
