Abstract
Summary A patient with an unusual malignant histiocytosis was admitted to an Infection Unit with hyper-pyrexia and jaundice. Campylobacter jejuni was isolated from blood culture and faecal specimens. The possible role of diminished serum IgM levels as a precipitant of opportunistic Campylobacter bacteraemia is discussed.
